And expected it not to hurt?
What did you think would protect it?
Keep it from getting burnt?
Nothing will save you from the inferno,
Not love, not truth, nor loyalty,
For once you play with fire,
It does not care about your morality.
The devil loves love,
For it's for this that people sacrifice their souls the most,
For once you fall under it's spell,
There are no depths to which you won't go.
So do not toss your heart into the flames,
Instead, encase it with stone and ice,
Let no one come and break down those walls,
