Rumah Pitu Ruang, Traditional House of Gayonese

Few days ago, I went to pick my friend up from an office at Rumah Pitu Ruang complex area. This was my first time to visit that place. It looks amazing house, a traditional house of Gayonese. I took some pictures of the house. I will show you here.

The house is located at Bale Atu Village of Bukit Subdistrict in Bener Meriah. The backdrop of the house are pines trees. It looks amazing. It’s like in the black forest, Germany.

I took the pictures with different angles. The house is made from woods.

About Rumah Pitu Ruang
Rumah Pitu Ruang is a house with seven rooms. According to an article by Lintasgayo.co, the rooms are:
Two (2) large rooms called Lepo, 5 units belek/cubicle or umah renong line up from the east wall, their position between Serami Rawan and Serami Banan.

Lepo is a room other than belek/booth and the floor is lower.

Lepo depan and lepo banan, lepo depan on the left and in front of the stairs going up, the rest is lepo banan which is sealed and given a pintu kul to enter the lepo banan. Pintu Kul is big door.

The front of the lepo banan to the east is called Anyong, Anyong for old women and girls. In Anyong room there is a kitchen, its function is to light a heating fire and cook.

Serami the bananas part of the lepo banan which is insulated according to the area of ​​the five chambers/ rooms. Serami banan as a place to cook and eat for each family.

Belek floors/rooms are higher than lepo floors, the doors lead to the serami banan and are given stairs.

Serami rawan room on the west side of Lepo Rawan, for adult or old men. The rest of the serami rawan can be used for feasts, circumcision and marriage. On the belek wall or the room leading to the stairs is used as a place for the arrangement of mats made by the women.

Unfortunately, when I were there. The house was closed. I need to go there next time when it open. I want to enter the house and take some pictures inside the house.
