THE BEAUTY OF SABANA ACEH MOUNTAIN TALEUK TIROE

in blurtindonesia •  last year

This expanse of green meadows is located in Tiro District, in Blang Keudah Village to be precise, with a very wide savanna area and enchanting panoramas. Letak Tiro District, Pidie is about 145 Km from Banda Aceh City. The journey to Mount Taleuk can be started from Tiro District, then to Blang Keudah Village past the Pinto Sa Tiro Dam.

From Blang Keudah Village, the journey continues through the river crossing roads, seven rivers that are quite wide and deep. "We have to pass through seven rivers to get there," said Muin (traveler/organizer of East Aceh). Arriving at the location of the hiking trail, tracking on foot for about 2-3 hours to climb so that the footsteps "stand" on the top of Mount Taleuk. Currently, there are still minimal directions to Mount Taleuk, so the suggestion from "Walkers" is that visitors invite/use local residents as guides to make the trip more effective.

What is Taleuk?
In the aceh language, Taleuk means divorce. Based on stories circulating in the surrounding community, the name taleuk emerged from a story of a husband and wife who were involved in the movement during the Mount Aceh conflict and it should be noted that taleuk was the location of the base of the movement involved in the conflict between Aceh and Indonesia.

That said, the couple was on their way to Mount Taleuk but the wife was tired on the way so she asked her husband not to continue the struggle and turned around to go home. The husband was angry and asked the wife to stay upright and not be defeated by fatigue while saying "if you choose to withdraw, I will divorce you", the wife withdrew, the divorce was legalized and the husband firmly continued the "movement" struggle at that time. The story of determination is so famous that the area is also named after the story of the couple.

Previously the location was not exposed, but since photos and information spread on social media, Mount Taleuk has now become a tourist location. The ticket price to enter this area is only Rp. 10,000 and includes vehicle parking fees. Related facilities such as parking lots, maintenance of goods, and other public facilities already exist and are considered sufficient for the needs of the current number of visitors. "It is better when registering other than ID/KTP, officers also check luggage so that there are no visitors who violate the provisions both related to the implementation of Qanun Syariat and the Environment and check "take your trash down" when visitors go home, because there are no officers who control the peaks, "said Mu 'in. Unfortunately for beautiful travelers/climbers, local pedestrian agreements do not yet allow female visitors and on the one hand the management of these destinations has not been optimally organized to ensure tourism activities are in accordance with the Qanun/Perda Syariat Islam Aceh.
