This drig is a selective beta receptor agonist. It acts as bronchodilator drug.
Activation of beta 2 adrenergic receptor on air way smooth muscle leads to the activation of adenyl cyclase and to an increase in intracellular concentration of cyclic 3¹, 5¹adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) ... THIS Increase of AMP Leads to the activation of protein kinase A which inhibits the phosphorylation of myosin and lowers intracellular ionic calcium concentration resulting in relaxation..
It have so many side effects :-
Nausea, vomiting, headache, muscle tremors
USES :- IT IS USED IN BRONCHIAL ASTHMA
