The 33rd match of the Indian Premier League was played between Delhi Capitals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad yesterday at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai. DC won against SRH by 8 wickets and became the top team on the points table. DC played total 9 matches and won 7 matches. They just need to win one match to confirm the playoffs. On the other hand SRH is now at 8th position on the points table. They played total 8 matches and won only one match. They have very less opportunity to qualify the playoffs though they will win the all remaining matches.
Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bat first. SRH had a bad start. SRH striker David Warner has gone for golden duck. Then skipper Kane Williamson came out and made 29 runs partnership with W Saha. W Saha has gone for 18 runs in 17 balls including 2 fours and a six. Then Manish Pandey came out and made another 31 runs partnership with K Williamson. Williamson has gone for 18 runs and Pandey gone for 17 runs. After breaking their partnership others batsman failed to made strong partnership. SRH lost total 6 wickets just for scoring 90 runs. Abdul Samad scored 28 runs in 21 balls including 2 fours and a six. Afgan all rounder Rashid Khan scored 22 runs in 19 balls including 2 fours and a six. Finally SRH scored total 134 runs by 9 wickets.
DC bowlers performed their best. Proteas pacer Kagiso Rabada picked up 3 wickets for 37 runs in 4 overs. Another Proteas pacer picked up two wickets for only 12 runs in 4 overs. Very economical bowling by Nortje. Axar Patel picked up two wickets for 21 runs in 4 overs.
In reply DC striker Prithvi Shaw has gone for 11 runs then Shreyas Iyer came out and made 52 runs partnership with Shikhar Dhawan. Dhawan has gone for scoring 43 runs in 37 balls including 6 fours and a six. After Dhawan's wicket Rishabh Pant came out and chased down the target with Shreyas Iyer in 17.5 overs. Both remained unbeaten. Shreyas Iyer scored 47 runs in 41 balls including 2 fours and 2 sixes. Rishabh Pant scored 35 runs in 21 balls including 3 fours and a six.
SRH bowlers have no significant performance. Rashid Khan and Khaleel Ahmed each picked up one wicket. Anrich Nortje was player of the match for his brilliant bowling performance.
