Murdeshwar is a town in Bhatkal taluk in Uttar Kannada district in the Indian state of Karnataka. This temple is dedicated like Shiva and all other southern temples; A 20-storey gopura is being constructed in the temple. It is 249 feet tall and is considered to be the longest gopura in the world. It is currently run by businessman and social activist R.N. Was built by Sethi.

This temple is bounded by the Arabian Sea and the Western Ghats. Murudeshwar is one of the most famous tourist destinations for visiting Karnataka, it is a popular beach resort for the importance of pilgrimage. The temple surrounds the temple on a small hill called Kanduka Giri. This is a great place to watch the sunset. Murudeshwar Murudeshwar is also known for its forts and wonderful beaches. The nearby Netrani Island is also a very popular place for tourists as it offers great opportunities for boating, snorkeling and scuba diving.
