As the cricket worldcup 2023 is going on and the entire country is thrilled about it. I thought I will also write about it, but not with my experience but rather about my father's experience about cricket as he is a hard-core cricket fan.

My father is a very simple man. He always refered and quoted rich but he never tried or acted rich in his life. He always thought us to be satisfied and content with whatever life gives us. Try for it but don't cry for it, were his teachings.

a poem

Everyone around knows him for his knowledge and he tries to spread it as much as he can. He spent his young age serving in villages to the underprivileged, even though, he himself and every one around him knew that he could do wonders in the corporate world. He believed in serving humanity over earning in dollars. Though, he provided all the extravagant things to all three of us. but he never ever exceeds his pocket for himself, even today.

Interacting with others

Every man will have certain desires and dreams in life, but due to their responsibilities, not everyone can fulfill those for themselves. Even my Father from his young age was very much interested in general, in all sports, but cricket was his most favourite, being a typical Indian. He always had a wish to watch the live match in the stadium and this time it was fulfilled.

As the ICC cricket worldcup 2023, hosted few of its matches at Hyderabad, my brother decided to send him for one. Every time due to his job and hectic schedule, he used to refuse it. This year he is retired and available here in India, that's why my brother and i just booked the tickets without informing him and gave him a surprise.

He was so overwhelmed and excited when he saw the booking. He became too emotional and with his teary eyes, he just gave us the blessings. The tickets were booked online, 2 days prior and the stadium where the match was conducted is very close to our current residence at Hyderabad. He had to collect the physical ticket from the metro station right next to the stadium itself which is my regular route.

On the day of match, me and my father decided to start together to collect the ticket from the metro station, where the ticketing booths were arranged. On our entire way to the metro, he kept on talking about cricket and his favourite players. He was very excited. We also made him to buy an Indian Jersey from outside the metro station.

He looked great! He was all exited, and he wanted his grand children to be with him on this dream come true day. But unfortunately all of them are too young to give him a company and other family members were all busy with their works, as the match was on the weekday. He really loves us all, specially his grandchildren. So, he decided, though they cant join him physically, but they can be with him on his thoughts always. And to express his feelings and to extend a small gesture of love, he wrote a note and carried with him for his all 4 grandchildren. He surprised us all by that. It was really touching.

Not just him, even we all were excited for him. Though, none of us from his children hold any interest in the cricket, we all watched the match that day, just to see if we can see him on TV. In the process of encouraging the child in others, first the child in us will come out, it was all like that.

Unfortunately, we couldn't see him on the big screen but he shared all his experiences from inside the stadium in his blog. Please pay a visit to his page to know his experience and upvote his blogs.

He had a wonderful day, collected a lot of memories and enjoyed it. Even we were very happy that we could do something for him to make him happy. Life is all about keeping our dear once happy and caring for them always.

The match which he visited.
