In this photo I am standing at a bridge over the mighty river Bhima.
It is one of the biggest rivers that flows through my city. A few weeks ago we had heavy rains due to a cyclone near the Bay of Bengal and this excessive rain caused the river Bhima to overflow.
Water is life and no one can control water. We cannot control rains, we cannot control the flow of water and we cannot control the rivers that flood into the villages and cities.
This is the first time in 100 years that we have seen such excessive rainfall.
The last time it rained this much was in 1903. The authorities have said that we have recieved about 38% more rain this year.
I hope everything will go normal soon and life will be normal again.
River Bhima looks very beautiful, a river having vast basin is very rare in South I think.
I think there are a few with vast basin but not as vast as the ones in Northern India.
Yes bhai, the basin of Ganges and Brahmaputra are still the vast.
