Bloodbath in Peshawar:

Following historic photograph is taken in 1930. The photograph shows, dead bodies of Pathans on the street of Peshawar killed by the British during an ambush.

They were given different names by the British; like Mad Mullah, Religious fanatic, Frontier Raiders, loosewallah and some time they were called Ghazi.

Inhabitants of the Northwest Frontier were notorious in fighting against the occupiers. Here, we see the price they paid with their souls and blood for their land to be independent and for their future generations to be free.

On the back of the photograph is written which is difficult to read:
‘This photo you will see a few natives lying in the ground. well they even bleed to death. I saw these men first as they are lying in the photo first before they were taken away to be buried by the natives. 1930.
This is only a piece of the sights are seen in India.’
