The Story of A Homeless Dog

Long before she got preggy, she used to meet my daughter and her hubby whenever they come home. She will be right at their front door early in the morning too.

No guys, she's not their pet dog. She's the dog of their neighbor in the subdivision.

The Sad Story

She used to be their neighbor's loyal guard. When their fence was done, they tied her outside their gate. The heat of the sun is penetrating under the low roof especially during noontime. My daughter watched her solemnly, it pricked her heart.

Self Sufficient

Then the neighbor's house was closed, nobody knew where the whole family went, leaving the dog all alone outside and she was left to stray for her own food. Well, she's a jolly and self sufficient dog! She would meet and greet anybody who enters the gate from the outside. They in return would give her some food.

Later on, my daughter named her Caramela because of her color.

Night Visitor

It was still dark outside when my daughter heard some noise at the back of their kitchen. Caramela was whining, far from barking. She wondered why but she was afraid to go out.

She decided to go out at daybreak even before the sunrise to see if Caramela was still outside. As she was approaching, she heard little voice of puppies. Puppies! So that was the reason why she was crying last night! She had a labor.

Her heart melted when she saw this sight. Carmela gave birth to 4 cute puppies of different shades! She readily got a big box inside and cut it in order to create a flat space for them and placed some used clothing to keep them warm. The couple took care of them.

Weaning Time

Time came when they needed to be weaned. She bought tiny ribbons and tied it on their necks and posted a public notice via FB as to who would want to adopt the other two because they decided to only keep two of them.

It was then that the neighbor came to my daughter's house and told them that the dog belonged to them and that they went home to their place to attend a funeral. So that explains that. Anyways, they didn't claimed the puppies.

My daughter decided to give the two puppies to her friends.

Two Months After

Just lately, she sent a picture of them. They're now the new members of their family. See how they've grown! Hmmm that little guy looked pampered!

See how comfortable she is! She looked funny!

Now they've found a new home. We all love pets. My kids have soft spots when it comes to our pets. I will be sharing more of our pet stories on my next post.
