I was having a very busy time. I was taking some leisure time and watching popular program of Hanif Sanket. Seeing one thing made me feel bad. A disturbing fact about vultures has been highlighted.
Many people think that vultures are enemies for us but vultures are as good as our friends. These birds help to keep the environment free from pollution by cleaning nature. For this reason, the vulture is also called the cleaning worker of nature. They survive by eating the dead bodies of animals. Naturally vultures destroy many germs. The vulture's stomach can digest many germs, including anthrax, cholera, and rabies. So even if there are germs of these diseases in the dead body, it cannot spread due to vultures.
Despite all the benefits, we have not been able to give the vultures the proper status. In the last two eras, vultures are on the verge of extinction. The number of vultures in Bangladesh has not decreased. The number of vultures in the world has decreased by 99.99 percent. And we are the reason for the decline of vultures. The use of drugs called diclofenac and ketoprofen in veterinary medicine has been cited as the reason for the decline in vultures. This is because there is no enzyme in the vulture's body to digest this kind of medicine.
Vultures can destroy many germs but they are defeated by this drug called diclofenac. According to experts, vultures die within two days of eating it. Millions of vultures have died on earth before we knew it. A veterinary drug blamed for driving vultures to the brink of extinction on the Indian subcontinent could cause thousands of bird deaths now that it is being used in Spain.
Does it just hurt the animals? Painkillers may be the mainstay of pain relief for most people with physical pain including neck, waist and knees. But have we ever wondered how harmful pain medications are! It is well known that painkillers can cause gastric ulcers or have a negative effect on the kidneys. One of the powerful painkillers such as diclofenac.
The Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change of Bangladesh has taken initiative to stop their extinction. We have something to do. There is a need to increase mass awareness among every person in the society. The harmful side of the drug diclofenac should be highlighted, especially among those who raise cattle and those who provide medical services to veterinarians. Awareness must be created. The use of this drug called diclofenac should be reduced and the use of the opposite drug should be ensured.
