Saludos queridos lectores y amantes de la fotografía
Greetings dear readers and photography lovers
Lo que les estoy compartiendo en esta oportunidad fue una agradable sorpresa, las imágenes las obtuve mientras esperaba a mi hija mayor que estaba en su clase de música. Resulta que huyéndole al intenso calor que está azotando al oriente venezolano, mi esposo y yo decidimos sentarnos en una plaza cercana a la academia de música, de esa forma podríamos aprovechar la fresca briza y así nuestra hija menor también podría juguetear un rato, y yo por supuesto, tratar de capturar algunas imágenes de los pájaros que habitan en la plaza, aunque le confieso, que mi objetivo principal, era un pájaro carpintero que había visto el día anterior, pero no pude fotografiar, porque no cargaba la cámara. Mientras estaba distraída buscando entre los árboles, mi esposo llamo mi atención señalándome un árbol y para mi grata sorpresa, se trataba de una especie que nunca había tenido la oportunidad de ver, salvo en cautiverio, el ave a la cual me refiero es a un TUCAN, científicamente denominado ranfástidos (Ramphastidae).
What I am sharing with you this time was a pleasant surprise, I got the images while I was waiting for my eldest daughter who was in her music class. It turns out that fleeing from the intense heat that is hitting eastern Venezuela, my husband and I decided to sit in a square near the music academy, that way we could take advantage of the cool breeze and so our youngest daughter could also play around for a while, and I of course, try to capture some images of the birds that live in the square, although I confess, that my main objective, was a woodpecker that I had seen the day before, but I could not photograph, because I was not carrying the camera. While I was distracted searching among the trees, my husband called my attention to a tree and to my pleasant surprise, it was a species that I had never had the opportunity to see, except in captivity, the bird I am referring to is a TUCAN, scientifically called ranphastidae (Ramphastidae).
Esta hermosa ave perteneciente a la familia ranfástidas, cuyo nombre proviene del guaraní “Tupí Tucana”, además, es conocidas en algunos lugares como Diotedé o Diostedé. Entre otros detalles interesantes que logre indagar sobre ella, es que esta familia, pertenece al orden de los piciformes, el cual alberga seis géneros y cuarenta y dos especies diferentes de tucanes. Se encuentran distribuidos desde México hasta Argentina, variando su preferencia en cuanto al habitad, lográndose encontrar, desde las selvas húmedas tropicales de baja altitud, hasta los bosques más templados en cordilleras a 3000 msnm de altitud.
This beautiful bird belonging to the ranphastidae family, whose name comes from the Guaraní "Tupí Tucana", is also known in some places as Diotedé or Diostedé. Among other interesting details that I can find out about it, is that this family belongs to the order of piciformes, which houses six genera and forty-two different species of toucans. They are distributed from Mexico to Argentina, varying their preference in terms of habitat, being able to find, from the humid tropical forests of low altitude, to the more temperate forests in mountain ranges to 3000 msnm of altitude.
Los tucanes, además de poseer un prominente pico que llega a medir aproximadamente 20 cm de longitud, se caracterizan por ser aves de plumas y pico de colores muy llamativos. Su peso oscila entre los 130 y 680 grs., pudiendo llegar a medir hasta 65 centímetros. Posee pequeñas alas redondeadas y cortas, en cambio su cola es larga y cuadrada. Sus fuertes patas son cortas, lo que le facilita el desplazamiento entre los árboles, logrando sujetarse fácilmente sus ramas.
The toucans, in addition to having a prominent peak that reaches approximately 20 cm in length, are characterized by feathered birds and beak of very striking colors. Its weight ranges between 130 and 680 grams, and can reach up to 65 centimeters. It has small rounded and short wings, but its tail is long and square. Its strong legs are short, which facilitates the movement between the trees, easily attaching their branches.
Para concluir, quiero compartir con ustedes, que específicamente el Tucán que les muestro en las fotografías, es un Tucán Aracarí Cuellado, científicamente denominado Pteroglossus torquatus, y es propio de Sudamérica, esto lo deduje comparando las fotografías que tomé, con imágenes que encontré en el internet de las distintas especies de tucanes, espero no estar equivocada en mis deducciones. Bueno, por ahora me despido de ustedes, no sin antes agradecerle a mi esposo @amart29, quien me ayudo tomando algunas de las fotografías que les muestro hoy, finalmente espero que les gustara esta tercera entrega y siempre agradecida con ustedes por tomar un poco de su tiempo para visitarme.
To conclude, I want to share with you, that specifically the Toucan that I show you in the photographs, is a Aracari Tucano Cuellado, scientifically named Pteroglossus torquatus, and it is typical of South America, I deduced this by comparing the photographs I took, with images that I found in the internet of the different species of toucans, I hope not to be wrong in my deductions. Well, for now I say goodbye to you, not without first thanking my husband @amart29, who helped me by taking some of the photographs that I show you today, finally I hope you will like this third installment and always grateful to you for taking a bit of its time to visit me.
