This is a black bengal goat. It is one of the developed breeds of Bangladeshi goats. Male goats weigh about 20-25 kg at the age of one to one and a half years and 30-40 kg at the age of two to two years and female goats become pregnant at the age of one to three years. Black Bengal female goats have 2-3 kids and sometimes 4 are seen. The Black Bengal goat I saw weighed 43 kg. The taste of the goat meat was amazing in one word. They eat raw grass, coarse and grainy foods like wheat, maize.

Although the people of the village usually cultivate them in a free way, now that the unemployment rate has gone up, the educated youngsters are cultivating these breeds in goat farm system and developing themselves as successful entrepreneurs. They are earning foreign exchange by exporting to the neighboring countries. Due to the high demand in the market, both the common man and the entrepreneur are benefiting and at the same time their family needs can be easily met.
