The more I deal with animals (or birds), the more I become convinced that their behavior is much closer to the behavior of people than we used to think. I fully admit that in the wild nature instincts still play a paramount role. But if we talk about my pets, then I'm not sure of anything.
But here, too, it cannot be said that they are all the same. Here, for example, in terms of parental responsibility, for example, my duck is just a model for all other birds. But speaking of pigeons and parrots...
Neither pigeons nor parrots will ever miss an opportunity to push the care of their chicks onto me. Indeed, why not? If this wingless and featherless person still walks back and forth all day, they definitely have extra time to take care of the chicks!
I am also very lucky that now I don’t have to think about how to feed the chicks, because you can buy a special mixture in pet stores. The pet food manufacturers definitely have some sort of secret arrangement with the birds, otherwise they wouldn't have come up with the idea! At this point, we can put a bold cross on the whole theory of natural selection ...
However, there are positive aspects to everything. Chicks that have been fed this way will grow up tame and sociable and will make great friends for you.
