Egyptian Geese by the Lake Today ~ My Nature Themed Photography

in blurtimals •  2 years ago

Apparently a little later this week the UK is set for a "Mini Heatwave", starting from Wednesday on-wards. Already Today the weather definitely seems hotter than it has been the last few days. Going out anywhere on very hot days is going to be extremely exhausting, so I might just settle for wondering round my garden 🤣

Anyway, Today is sunny (but not extreme heat) so I went to the Park Lake as I normally do whenever possible. The warmer weather attracts the Geese onto the grass bank close to the main public footpath. I would of thought they would be cooler in the water 🤔 but not so it seems. Perhaps they simply like the shade given by the many trees there.

There are two types of Geese currently on the Lake ~ Canadian and Egyptian ! The photos (below) are mostly of the Egyptian variety (notice the red coloured beaks and red webbed feet). These two distinctive colour features makes them very easy to spot on land or in the Lake.

Please enjoy my Monday pictures, Nature is truly awesome....
