Yesterday was my birthday. A special day for many, a day in which you are spoiled and you receive surprises, this year was better than last year, since last year we spent it here alone in the apartment the four of us.

El día de ayer fue mi cumpleaños. Un día especial para muchos, un día en el que te consienten y recibes sorpresas, este año fue mejor que el año pasado, ya que el año pasado la pasamos aquí solos en el apartamento nosotros cuatro.

This time we spent it at my parents' house, I spent my day with them, my husband, my daughters, my brother, some my uncles and a cousin. I felt blessed to be with them, to be able to share a birthday again and have them there with me.

Esta vez la pasamos en casa de mis padres, pasé mi día con ellos, mi esposo, mis hijas, mi hermano, unos mi tíos y una prima. Me sentí bendecida por estar con ellos, por poder compartir un cumpleaños nuevamente y tenerlos allí conmigo.

My aunt was the one who made the cake and she told us that she had thought of making it out of soursop but she remembered how much I like chocolate and then she made it chocolate cake, hmmmmm.... I really loved it. God bless my aunt's hands, she cooks very delicious, especially the sweets.

Mi tía fue la que hizo la torta y nos contó que había pensado en hacerla de guanábana pero recordó cuanto me gusta el chocolate y entonces la hizo de chocolate, hmmmmm.... realmente me encantó. Dios bendiga las manos de mi tía, ella cocina muy delicioso, especialmente los dulces.

And although a tradition when the candle is blown is to make a wish, what I did was thank God for giving me another year of life and allowing me to continue by the side of my loved ones, I think that is bigger than anything else.

Y aunque una tradición cuando se sopla la vela es pedir un deseo, yo lo que hice fue agradecer a Dios por darme otro año más de vida y permitirme seguir al lado de mis seres queridos, creo que eso es más grande que cualquier otra cosa.
