Strange: It said my vote would be worth just 1.31 blurt, but after voting the total didn't even go up a full digit! I have all that VP and my vote is worth less than 1 cent? That can't be correct. Something seems wrong here.
Ok, so if I win the 1,000 VP delegation that will raise my vote by almost nothing. 1,000 VP should actually make a difference, shouldn't it? I can see why anyone starting out with nothing would quickly be discouraged and leave. Especially if it COSTS them to participate. Please tell me I'm wrong and didn't see the numbers correctly.
Compare your voting power with your Steem account. There you have about 5000 SP and your vote is worth 5 cents. If you would have 7000 SP there, just like you have here on Blurt, your vote would be worth 7 cents.
If you now put the whole thing in relation, you earn much more here on Blurt. Imagine, Blurt would be worth like Steem currently about 20 cents. Then your vote on Steem would still be worth 7 cents, while your vote on Blurt would be worth about 26 cents.
I have given up calculating in dollars. I believe in the future of this blockchain and therefore I calculate in Blurt :)
This is true. Sometimes one must look past the dollar amounts and trust in the future.
This chain is still very young and it hasn't had much exposure yet.
I'll need to do a lot more research into this chain before I can make any kind of informed opinion about it.
