Hier ist dein zweiter 100-er.
Das von Karl oben gepostete Foto stammt aus der Kneipe in der du die Geschichte mit dem Kettenschloss erzählt hast, oder? Hat mich schwer beeindruckt, die Marke vom Motorrad ist mir aber entfleucht...

This is a BMW R24 I think. Single cylinder 250 CC , producing possibly 13 HP. I don't think the front fender is correct and the seat is definitely not right. I had an R26 for a short period of time but it was in several boxes. I sold it to a local restorer who rebuilt it and sold it in Europe .
I was riding my R90/6 once accompanied by a gentleman riding a nicely setup R27 over a narrow twisty road in the town of Colden, New York. It was hard to keep up with this skilled rider in the twisties, but I gained on him on the short straight sections. It was an illuminating ride in may regards and one that I will remember.

It is a R25/3 with year of manufacture 1954.
I drove her very much with pleasure. Also from Germany to the south of France.
I had the opportunity to ride a 650 CC BMW if I wanted. But I preferred to ride my 250 CC.
In Germany it is also called "Gummikuh".
That means cow made of rubber ;-)
In which country do you live?
I live in the United States, in the town of Hamburg, just south of the city of Buffalo, on the shore of Lake Erie. I have had my R90/6 for 40 years. I do occasionally look at new motorcycles, but nothing seems like that big of an improvement over the R90. I have not ridden my motorcycle for a few years due to illness, but I will be riding again in the springtime with a bit of luck.
When you used the phrase "Gummikuh" were you referring to the 650 or the 250?

I think "Gummikuh" were called all BMW-motorcycles.
I guess because of the cardan drive.

And I'm not an expert in motorcycles, but I think it's very similar to the Royal Enfield Motorcycle 1950. Although I could be wrong of course :-)

I think my dad is almost exactly as old as that bike but I'm not sure.
His bike is pretty old too and he's definitely going to want to talk to you guys about it.
I think his oldest BMW motorcycle was built in 1926
Wow, mine up there was born in 1954.

the r26, I am not certain that he still has it. It was given to him as many boxes of motorcycle parts and frame with a "good luck".
Restoration project, you see.
I will let him tell you about his main ride though, wouldn't be fair to spoil the fun.

And we should cure this stupid virus so that we can take these folks up on the offer of schnitzel in Austria. We will ride from some place in Germany to the Weinerschnitzel.
We may have to start with schnitzel in Berlin near whatever the event space was for rcon3 because that schnitzel was just amazing.
We can just ride around eating schnitzel and we're not riding at night we can try different premium gins.
In Berlin there is a barn end botanica and that was a very nice time although I believe that you pay some kind of premium for a gin only bar however that makes sense to me the gin only part....
