My Introduction to the Blurt Community

Dear Blurt Community, I am happy to have found my way here and this is my first post to Blurt.

I live in Austria, am 54 years old and have very different interests: writing, reading, photography, music, drawing, artjournaling, gardening, cooking, food, animals, health, mindset.... and much much more. Some may already know me from Hive, where I have been very active for half a year now. Now I have discovered Blurt through a few other Hive members and also through @dreemport and I find it nice to explore other platforms as well.

Something I also love very much, but in recent years I have neglected, is the architecture and detail photography. Maybe I will be more active again for you in this area.

My avatar came about by chance, because it was the first photo I found for my Hive account at the time. In the meantime I have become so familiar with the little sea turtle that it stayed with her:

I've seen that many just post the same content here and there, but that's not really what I want to do. Well, what becomes of it in the end and how things develop, I can not say. Sometimes the topics will certainly overlap. I have something like a FotoLog in mind, one or more photos a day plus a bit of my incredibly crazy, profound wisdom ;-)

Why Blurt now? Because, as much as I love Hive and as much as I've found many people valuable to me there, I don't like the downvote mentality in principle. Personally, it has only partially affected me now and has dissolved into nothing, but I have seen so many dedicated people who have thrown in the towel just because of that and I find that very unfortunate. That's why I'm coming here now to find out about alternatives.

My native language is German. Currently I post mostly bilingual with English, here too we will see how it develops. Theoretically I would still have a rusty French in stock ;-) But the fact is that English is the language most users understand. So for the time being I will accept the additional effort for bilingual postings.

It would still be nice, if already bilingual, that you could make the same post twice with only one language each. This would also be useful for SEO and to attract new users in other languages. But I guess that will also not be welcomed here?

Am looking foreward to a great time here and for sure there will a lot of questions arise, wich I hope the german community will help me with. Thanks very much to @mein-senf-dazu for helping me starting

Liebe Blurt Community, ich freue mich, den Weg hierher gefunden zu haben und dies ist mein erster Post hier.

Ich lebe in Österreich, bin 54 Jahre alt und habe sehr unterschiedliche Interessen: Schreiben, Lesen, Fotografieren, Musik, Zeichnen, Artjournaling, Garteln, Kochen, Essen, Tiere, Gesundheit, Mindset.... und vieles vieles mehr. Manche kennen mich vielleicht schon von Hive, wo ich jetzt doch schon ein halbes Jahr sehr aktiv bin. Jetzt habe ich über ein paar andere Hive Mitglieder und auch über @dreemport nun auch Blurt entdeckt und ich finde es schön, auch andere Plattformen zu erkunden.

Etwas das ich auch sehr liebe, aber in den letzten Jahren vernachlässigt habe ich die Architektur und die Detail Fotografie. Vielleicht werde ich ja für euch in diesem Bereich wieder aktiver.

Mein Avatar hat sich durch Zufall ergeben, weil es das erstbeste Foto war, das ich seinerzeit für meinen Hive Account gefunden hatte. Mittlerweile habe ich die kleine Meeres Schildkröte aber so lieb gewonnen, dass sie mir erhalten blieb:

Ich habe gesehen, dass viele einfach denselben Content hier und dort posten, aber das ist es eigentlich nicht, was ich machen möchte. Gut, was am Ende dann daraus wird und wie sich die Dinge entwickeln kann ich jetzt auch noch nicht sagen. Manches mal werden sich die Themen sicherlich auch überschneiden. Mir schwebt so etwas wie ein FotoLog vor, ein oder mehrere Foto am Tag plus ein bisschen meiner unglaublich verrückten, tiefsinnigen Weisheit ;-)

Warum jetzt Blurt? Weil, so sehr ich Hive liebe und so sehr ich viele mir wertvolle Menschen dort gefunden habe, mir vom Prinzip her die Downvote Mentalität nicht gefällt. Mich persönlich hat es jetzt nur teilweise betroffen und sich wieder in Wohlgefallen aufgelöst, aber ich habe schon so viele engagierte Leute gesehen, die nur deswegen das Handtuch geworfen haben und das finde ich sehr schade. Deswegen jetzt der Weg hierher um auch Alternativen kennenzulernen.

Meine Muttersprache ist deutsch. Momentan poste ich meist zweisprachig mit Englisch, auch hier werden wir sehen wie es sich entwickelt. Theoretisch hätte ich noch ein eingerostetes Französisch auf Lager ;-) Aber es ist ja so, dass Englisch die Sprache ist, die von den meisten Usern verstanden wird. So werde ich wohl vorerst den Mehraufwand für zweisprachige Postings weiterhin in Kauf nehmen.

Schön wäre es nach wie vor, wenn schon zweisprachig, dass man denselben Post zweimal mit jeweils nur einer Sprache machen dürfte. Das wäre auch in Richtung SEO und für neue anderssprachige User anzulocken sinnvoll. Aber ich schätze mal, das wird auch hier nicht gerne gesehen sein?

Herzlichen Dank an @mein-senf-dazu für die tolle Starthilfe mit Blurt und Delgation! Sobald ich weiß, wie gibt’s dafür bestimmt ein wohlverdientes witness upvote. Und es wird auch bestimmt noch viele offene Fragen geben, also bereitet euch schon mal auf die wohlbekannten beeber-Löcher im Bauch vor ;-)
