Why are imams divided in Iraq with video game fatwas?

  The fatwa on a video game in Iraq came from The Kurdish Union of Islamic Scholars. But another group of imams has taken a stand against this fatwa.


The video game called Player Unknown Battle Grounds is quite popular in the area. The fatwa came from The Kurdish Union of Islamic Scholars with a ban on it.


They also have the power to issue fatwas in Iraqi Kurdistan. Basically, they are the appropriate authority to issue such fatwas there.


But other imams have taken a stand against the ban. What is the reason for this?
