Pray for Peace in Benue State
Benue State, the food basket of the nation, is under siege. A land known for its rich farmlands and hardworking people is now a land of sorrow, displacement, and fear. Armed herdsmen have continued to wreak havoc, forcing countless farmers off their ancestral lands, disrupting livelihoods, and leaving trails of destruction.
While the government is doing its best to manage the crisis, it is clear that this situation demands more than policies and interventions, it calls for prayers, collective action, and divine intervention.
Lives are being lost daily. Families are shattered, children orphaned, and communities wiped out. Schools have been shut down, leaving children without education, and churches have been forced to close, denying people a place of worship and refuge. What was once a land of hope and industry has become a place of mourning and survival.
Years ago, this same violence claimed the lives of two Catholic priests. One of them, Fr. Joseph, was not just a priest but a friend, a classmate, and a childhood playmate. His life, like many others, was cut short by senseless violence.
How do you come armed to fight an unarmed people?
How do you kill an infant, what crime have they committed?
How do you pursue women even as they flee, just to take their lives?
Where is our humanity?
Benue deserves peace. Our people deserve to plant and harvest without fear. Our children deserve to grow up in safety. There are children who struggle to learn under harsh conditions, some in open fields, others in makeshift classrooms, yet even in these difficulties, they are denied the peace to study.
Schools that once stood as beacons of hope have been reduced to ruins, their walls bearing the scars of violence. Community efforts built over years, through sacrifice and determination, have been wiped out by those who do not understand the value of education. The promise of a better future is being stolen, cutting off an entire generation from the opportunities that knowledge and learning should provide. Our state deserves justice, not war.
Dear Blurt family, I ask for your prayers, your best wishes, and your solidarity. Let us stand together, believing that the God of justice sees all and will bring healing to our land. May peace return to Benue State. May God hear our cry.
We pray for peace in Benue State 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks so much. I appreciate sir
Peace and good fortune for the civilians and farmers of Benue State! No more senseless violence.
Thank you so much for your kind wishes. Peace and safety for the civilians and farmers of Benue State are truly what we long for. May justice prevail, and may the cycle of violence end.
You get the feeling that there is only bad news in the world.....
People are stupid, selfish, power-hungry and greedy for money. They are also working hard to eradicate themselves.
I'm not a believer, you know that.
But of course I wish from the bottom of my heart
justice and peace.
I wish you a lot of strength and please take good care of yourself!
I get how it feels sometimes Mum, the world can seem overwhelmingly dark. But your wish for justice and peace is powerful, and I hold onto that hope too. Thank you for your kind words as always . Take care of yourself as well Mum .
