My Aunt Taught Me to Buy Fresh Fish For Less

Glad to be back after a week of hiatus. I have been busy with a lot of things that I had to prioritize because they were quite urgent and personal. I am building my first ever house for me and my daughter and learning the ropes of living independently.

Today, my aunt taught me how to get the freshest fish for less. We went to the beach so early in the morning to meet the fishermen that docks from their overnight sail. We buy from them directly and we can haggle. I did not haggle because the price they offered was really low already then anywhere else.

I buy in the market or the grocery store and the price was like 3 folds from what these men were offering. The fish were really fresh, so I bought 5 kilos. The picture here only shows half of what I bought. I just wanted to show the big one, which is locally called a Palad and the small ones called Talho. Talho is my favorite fish, because it has white meat and it is really tasty no matter how you cook it. Even a plain fried talho would already make me finish 2-3 cups of rice. Hahaha!

I am so proud of this new knowledge my aunt shared with me, I now know the secret to buying fresh fish for less.
