Fish and Chips? No, We Do Eat Fish as Chips!

in blurtfilipino •  4 years ago

I have been eating fresh catch fish since I lived in my aunty's farm that happens to be a 20-minute walk to the beach. Every morning, we meet the fishermen by the beach as they dock after a night of fishing. Their fresh catch fish are more affordable than the ones sold in the market or the grocery.

One of the common catch in this area is a fish locally called Sapsap. It is a silver fish that is vertically flat in appearance like in the picture below. I love this fish and so do my daughter and my two aunties. We love this deep fried because it gets so crunchy and we eat all of it. Fresh fish are kind of sweet in taste. You add a bit of salt to it and deep fry on a pan until they turn golden. This is best with ketchup or a a soy sauce dip with a pinch of lemon and some slices of tomatoes and onions.

We eat this like chips! Yes, we eat this with our bare hands and put on dips or just as plain as it is when it is deep fried.
