Aloha, Blurt World!
I am back after a little break. The pandemic has been keeping me busy and paranoid, just like everybody else, I guess. All is well, so far and things are slowly crawling back to normal. Just like our eating habits. When the pandemic started, eating outside in restaurants was not possible and not safe but slowly, we've come to realize we have to live with this coronavirus situation from now on because either way we will perish. The coronavirus is a big threat and so is not having a job because no businesses are operational. So, we had to manage this pandemic and continue with our lives plus being too careful with infection or transmission of this virus. You know, time heals, time makes us wiser, too. Most restaurants are now open albeit only half of its capacity, but at least they are now back in business.
Here in the Philippines, we love Korean Samgyupsal restaurants. I missed grilling their bacony pork strips, samgyupsal. I don't know, it's really fun dining this way. I cannot imagine dining like this at home because it would be too many tableware to clean. Imagine the sides and the meats and the grill and everything. The condiments, the sauces, they all come in bowls, plus the thongs and the cookware you use in the process. My family and I really enjoy having this outside. It's a usual treat we go to when we are feeling lazy and we want to have something extra than our homecooked meals.
This particular restaurant we go to for Korean grill dining experience is called Romantic Baboy, in English that would mean Romantic Pig. As a family, we love pork so much, sorry to the vegans, this is just how we are. One reason why we love this kind of dining because the pork bits are bite-sized. It comes in different flavors and the marinades are amazing. Curry, salt and pepper, bbq, oh name it, they have it. Plus the sides that are all vegetables like masked potatoes, kimchi and salads. it just compliments and we love that with the rice. We Filipinos, asians, will always be rice eaters. This kind of experience will really sell to Filipinos because somehow the mix is familiar, meat, veggies and the unlimited rice!
Have you tried the Korean Grills in your area, which one is your favorite? Ours, it is Romantic Baboy!
