This is a true story.
A story that tells of two people.
Tom and Tina.
A loving couple whose busy life together, meant that they'd now found themselves in trouble.
They didn't allow themselves - or each other - to give up on them. ....Instead, they fought their way back to each other, using inner courage, imagination, and a stubborn refusal to ever give up on what they had.
This is their story.
Some background...
Tom and Tina had met each other many years ago, back in the 1990's, the 'raving years'.
They'd met in one of the many night clubs that they both went to and 'hit it off' straight away, finding themselves to be 'an item', very quickly.
Tom was the quiet type and always content to go with the flow, would try to keep everyone happy, and worked hard at his business.
He'd always managed to keep a roof over their heads, and to provide for their very unexpected, but most welcome, surprise.
Tiny became pregnant very soon after they'd become 'a couple'.
They called her Megan, and she was the love, and focus, of their lives.
Tina stayed at home to look after her, while Tom worked all the hours he could, to make sure that everything was looked after, financially - with his hours in the office taking up the majority of his time.
As Megan grew up, she developed into an attractive young woman, and was soon having a busy social life of her own.
Tina and Tom looked at her, this beautiful young woman, with a loving pride that only a parent can understand.
It was only then, and after being together for nearly 20 years, that any problems in their relationship stared to show.
The cracks that appeared had been very easy to ignore over the years - they'd both had busy lives which meant that they'd almost no time just for each other.
'Real life', and al that came with it, gave them no time for each other any longer, or for the romantic times that once, many years ago, seemed to be a default setting.
With the house becoming increasingly empty, and with Tom still working like slave at his business, Tina suddenly realized just how lonely she now felt.
With an empty house, and Tom not coming home until after nine o’clock sometimes, she'd noticed that she'd started to open a bottle of wine each night, looking sadly at the lovely dinner that she'd prepared for her husband, going cold.
Again.
She'd actually wondered weather her husband might be having an affair, but quickly pushed that nightmare scenario out of her head.
He wasn't really like that.
He'd never been much of a flirt around women, and she'd never heard anything about him for her to ever think that he was a womaniser.
The more she thought about it, the more silly it sounded.
He just wasn't like that.
Sex in their relationship had never really much of a priority for either of them.
They both enjoyed each other, physically, and while they'd never had what Tina would call 'mind blowing sex' (that she'd experience before meeting him), it really hadn't been that important in the grand scheme of things.
Tom had only ever had a couple of lovers before they'd gotten together. He was so shy that she'd virtually had to beg him and then drag him, into her bedroom on that first night that they'd spent together.
….Looking around the empty house, and waiting for husband, she scolding herself for even thinking such things about Him.
And then a question popped into head, one that came out of nowhere.
'Should I have an affair?'
She shocked herself by even thinking it.
.Never, in a million years, did she think that she'd ever ask herself that question.
It just wasn't her.
She didn't want an affair!..
She just wanted herself, and Tom, to be like they used to be.
It was the intimacy that had gone, slipping away ever so slowly over the years, to be replaced by a a 'things to do list'.
It was the intimacy that craved.
The same intimacy that they once had together. The sex itself was almost an afterthought to her.
...Drinking another glass of wine at the empty dinner table she sobbed very quietly to herself, not knowing any more what the future might hold for her, or even if it was to be with Tom, but she did know something.
Something had to change if she was to keep her sanity, and her relationship, together.
Part 2
The office party...
As Tina looked at the reflection in the mirror, she thought herself, 'You're doing pretty good, girl'
She'd kept her very good figure after having megan, and had made sure to always keep fit and eat as healthily as she could.
And now, nearing the big '40', she was more than happy with what she saw.
She was due to meet up with the Tom at his office in a short while.
He was throwing a surprise leaving party for a long term employee and friend, at the office itself.
Being the first night out she'd had in a long time, she spent the afternoon on the bath, and pampering herself, with nothing to do but enjoy the moment.
Wearing her pretties underwear, and slipping into her favourite dress, not looking too sexy, but just sexy enough, she smiled in the mirror, and went out jumping enthusiastically into the taxi that had just pulled up.
Twenty minute later and looking forwards to tonight's get together, she walked happily into Tom's office and her entire world shattered into a million broken pieces...
Next ,. the most obvious ,.. ?
To find out , tune in to the next episode .
;-)
Some people....get yer out of the gutter...!
Yikes, 40 and no children? Maybe that is where their intimacy started to crash. No family to bond it together. And the nore they wait the less chance she has at reproduction. Practically, by age 35 their fucked..
....you and your not reading the story correctly !..lol....
She/they have one child, (grown up, they had young, a 'welcome mistake')...now she approaching the big '40'....
but on a serious note - the con that women fell for, (and men), is quite monumental - and tragic (for many different reasons)...
Big pharma, and the antidepressant/alcohol industry, would obviously disagree with this perspective.
Govmnts would also disagree with me.
.. I mean, the tax collector thugs can maintain their income (protection racket) base, while at the same, reducing the power of each individual producer . (wages lowered, production up, tax revenue increasing)....Talk about divide and conquer ! lol
I re read it all again.
Affairs suck. Tom needs to SEE his wife. But as a man, one can understand the burden to serve his family. When their is children in the factor, for many who end up divorced because of some affair, or because the wife wasn't "happy" or being selfish, it tears apart the family's heart. It's a lose lose. Especially for the man of house.
Anyways,
Aside from that, judging from the last picture, she sees a sexy client or secretary sitting with Tom. Yikes. Lol
You are being very, very, presumptuous, young man !...lol
There is no evidence of any affair, only the internal mental conjectures in Tina's mind....
It's nothing like what your're perceiving/presuming, right now...
part 3 ....coming up soon !...enjoy the journey !
She thought about it. How many more times will she think about it till it becomes fact?
"Affairs suck"
They do.
Not saying that it will end up this way. I wish Tina and Tom fix their shiz. With no affairs as a result. That would be tragic. And all too common in real life.
Hehe. I'll shut up now.
lololol...
...this is a true story, btw...
...two people who very close to me/us - at the time this was 'all going on'.
Truth is stranger than fiction...(and I would defo know... lol)
Regarding the tax issue, my view is that its theft entirely and no one is obligated to pay, but pay we do when sales tax os involved or when tickets are issued, lotteries are won, etc. Getting off the grid is the goal, and is not an easy task. Not everyone has the land to do it. Many are stuck in the apartments with landlords. Paying rent. Rent! The hell with rent!
Birds who build their own nests don't pay rent to other birds, unless they must be confusing the act of being subjugated to a threat of violence(eviction) by the gang of birds(police, court, jail, "govern|ment" etc)
And very correct, it's exactly what that is, a protection racket.
Pay us and we'll protect you from us coming here and taking your shit. Our underlings will take more with the tickets they give while you travel about our streets.
