Mi cumpleaños 42

El 16 de enero no fue un día más en mi vida, fue el día de mi cumpleaños 42, mi primer cumpleaños en cuarentena, conviviendo con el covid y sobre todo año en que me dediqué a disfrutar de las cosas simples, de los buenos momentos y sobre todo de tener todo el día para pasar con mi familia, algo que no ocurre con frecuencia.

January 16th was not just another day in my life, it was the day of my 42nd birthday, my first birthday in quarantine, living with the covid and above all a year in which I dedicated myself to enjoying the simple things, the good times and above all having the whole day to spend with my family, something that does not happen often.

Años anteriores me la pasaba preparando la casa y comida para recibir a visitas y aunque si bien estaba contento por ver a tantas personas que a uno lo quieren, se llegaba con algo de fatiga a los festejos.

In previous years I spent my time preparing the house and food to receive visitors and even though I was happy to see so many people who love you, you arrived at the celebrations with some fatigue.

Este 2021, el covid me enseño a que hay otras formas de festejar, quizá más simples, más sencillas pero igual de hermosas. Este año mi cumpleaños nos agarró finalizando las vacaciones en un pequeño pueblo llamado Rio Colorado y armamos un lindo festejo en familia, esa familia que no es de sangre, pero es la que nos regala la vida.

This 2021, the covid taught me that there are other ways of celebrating, perhaps simpler, more simple but just as beautiful. This year my birthday caught up with us as we finished our vacation in a small town called Rio Colorado and we had a nice family celebration, that family that is not of blood, but is the one that gives us the gift of life.

El día comenzó hermoso con un buen desayuno y seguidito, porque nos levantamos tarde, siguieron unas ricas empanadas fritas de carne de jabalí.

The day started off beautifully with a good breakfast and then, because we got up late, followed by some nice fried boar meat empanadas.

Después de comer preparamos unos mates y salimos de paseo por las chacras que cultivan manzanas, peras, nueces, y gran cantidad de verduras para aprovechar un día al aire libre.

After lunch we prepared some mates and went for a walk around the farms that grow apples, pears, nuts, and lots of vegetables to enjoy a day outdoors.

Como había que ir a organizar el asado de la noche, no pudimos estar paseando todo el tiempo que hubiese querido, y volvimos al pueblo y mientras mi amigo Ezequiel hacía todos los preparativos para el asado me fui con los chicos a jugar a la plaza y comer un helado.

Since we had to go and organize the evening's barbecue, we couldn't walk around as long as we wanted to, so we went back to town and while my friend Ezequiel was making all the preparations for the barbecue, I went with the kids to play in the square and eat an ice cream.

A la noche por fin llego la cena, un exquisito asado de cordero que preparó Ezequiel y que todos disfrutamos.

In the evening, dinner finally arrived, an exquisite lamb roast prepared by Ezequiel that we all enjoyed.

Antes de irme adormir quise compartir la con todos ustedes la inmensa alegría que compartí con ustedes en este día tan lindo que quedará grabado en mi corazón.

Before I went to sleep I wanted to share with all of you the immense joy I shared with you on this beautiful day that will remain engraved in my heart.

Día de festejos, día de alegrías y de mucha demostración de afecto a través de mensajes y llamados telefónicos.

A day of celebration, a day of joy and much demonstration of affection through messages and phone calls.

Un día que no pasará desapercibido, un cumpleaños diferente, sin tanto barullo, pero disfrutando de las cosas simples de la vida.

A day that will not go unnoticed, a different birthday, without so much fuss, but enjoying the simple things in life.
