Recuerdan de este show de tv llamado la isla de la fantasía de 1977? Bueno a alguien se le ocurrió hacer una versión de terror, no es una broma, y hecho la premisa es interesante, cuando la historia comienza consigue atraparte, tiene actuaciones bastante cuestionables por parte de todo el reparto pero lo pasas por el alto por que termina dándote curiosidad cuáles serán sus fantasías, algunos siendo más comunes relacionadas al sexo y otras más fuertes como la venganza de torturar a alguien, la película es entretenida lo digo de ante mano, pero tiene algunos problemas que ensombrecen una historia que puedo ser realmente interesante.

Remember this tv show called fantasy island from 1977? Well someone came up with the idea of making a horror version, it's not a joke, and in fact the premise is interesting, when the story starts it manages to grab you, it has quite questionable performances from all the cast but you overlook it because it ends up making you curious what their fantasies will be, some being more common related to sex and others stronger like the revenge of torturing someone, the movie is entertaining I say that up front, but it has some problems that overshadow a story that could be really interesting.

El punto más débil es su guion, en la parte final la película tiene un giro que intenta ser sorprendente y de primera mano lo llega a ser pero luego te das cuenta rápidamente que tiene un error bastante grande, ya que termina creando más interrogante, que hacen que a la historia se caiga por su sola, te hace preguntarte si las personas que reviven (lo entenderá cuando la vean) son reales o son falsas, quien decide cuales son, o que son, los orígenes de la isla no se explican o no quedan del todo claro, ya que las reglas que tiene establecida se rompen a cada rato.

The weakest point is its script, in the final part the film has a twist that tries to be surprising and at first hand it becomes so but then you quickly realize that it has a pretty big mistake, as it ends up creating more questions, which make the story fall by itself, it makes you wonder if the people who revive (you will understand when you see it) are real or fake, who decides who they are, or what they are, the origins of the island are not explained or are not entirely clear, since the rules it has established are broken at every turn.

Como mencione al inicio, si es un filme que entretiene, no es una obra magistral del cine de terror, pero pasaran un rato agradable viéndola con amigos, el punto más fuerte que tiene es que si consigue atraparte por momentos, pero si te queda esa espinita de pudo ser mejor, y llegando al final sientes todo un poco empalagoso, hasta el punto que te preguntas, ok ya mejor termine la historia, es recomendable verla? Si claro, si lo haces con amigos para pasar el rato y la puedes encontrar en HBO Max.
