Las Guacamayas son aves encantadoras, sus vibrantes colores son sencillamente hermosos, pero aun en blanco y negro no pierden toda su majestuosidad. Este ejemplar en particular es una guacamaya citadina, si como lo leen, vive junto a su grupo en medio de la ciudad de Lechería, estado Anzoátegui, Venezuela.
Macaws are charming birds, their vibrant colors are simply beautiful, but even in black and white they do not lose all their majesty. This particular specimen is a city macaw, if as you read it, it lives with its group in the middle of the city of Lechería, Anzoátegui state, Venezuela.
Por supuesto, no es su habitad natural, ellas pertenecen a la selva amazónica, pero algunas se han tenido que mudar a la ciudad. Una de las razones es que nosotros hemos invadido y modificado su espacio natural y la otra es la constante comercialización ilegal. Ocasionalmente se puede ver individuos que cazan a los pichones para venderlas en zonas urbanas y por desconocimiento algunas personas las compran y las colocan en cautiverio.
Of course, it is not their natural habitat, they belong to the Amazon rainforest, but some have had to move to the city. One of the reasons is that we have invaded and modified their natural space and the other is the constant illegal commercialization. Occasionally you can see individuals who hunt the chicks to sell them in urban areas and out of ignorance some people buy them and place them in captivity.
Aunque estas aves se adaptan relativamente bien al cautiverio, es muy frecuente que terminen escapando o que sus dueños al no poder atenderlas, las liberan. Esas imagino son las principales razones, de que se formaran los grupos de guacamayas que surcan los cielos de la zona norte del estado Anzoátegui.
Although these birds adapt relatively well to captivity, it is very frequent that they end up escaping or that their owners, not being able to attend to them, release them. I imagine these are the main reasons why groups of macaws were formed in the northern part of the state of Anzoátegui.
