Weird Hungarian Expressions and Proverbs #3

in blurtep •  2 years ago

Back with my series of weird Hungarian sharings, that is a part of @clixmoney's Expressions and Proverbs challenge ( in which so far only him and I participate in . . .).

Today's entry :

Pislog mint hal a szatyorban.

Literal translation:
Blinking like a fish in the bag.

We use this expression when someone is really suprised, just staring and literally can not say or do anything.

Example of it's use:
"When I told @clixmoney that Blurt introduced downvotes, he was just blinking like a fish in the bag.
(This is a fictional scenario.)

Do you have any weird, funny or strange expressions or proverbs you wanna share?
Use #blurtep when you share them.
Thanks @clixmoney for coming up with this challenge.

I think I would say this expression when @ultravioletmag asks a question in the quiz nobody understands. And we are all like ''Blinking like a fish in the bag.'' lol
