@clixmoney started a new trend here on Blurt; sharing expressions and proverbs from where you come from.
Being Hungarian myself, I have many of those up in my sleeve. . .
Hungarians always come up with some pretty weird stuff that makes no sense to anybody (often not even for me 😅).
So here is me, starting my series of weird Hungarian Expressions and Proverbs.
Falra hányt borsó
The literal translation of this is
"peas thrown onto a wall".
This expression we use when it really doesn't matter what you say to a person, they just don't care, and they do not consider it at all.
An example of it's use:
I called Vladimir Putin and I've asked him to stop the war. It was like peas thrown onto a wall.
In other ways you may also like to say "It's like talking to a wall." Which in Hungarian it sounds like:
Mintha a falnak beszèlne.
But i prefer the first one. . .
Do you have any expressions or proverbs where you live, or where you come from that you would like to share?
Share them using the #blurtep hashtag, so we can find them all in one place.
Much Love, Petra 💜

Lol... These proverbial statements always come off like a joke especially when you want to give it direct interpretation. Hehe. Nice to know something about Hungarians and their proverbial wordplay
Thank you. More to come. . .there are plenty weird expressions where i come from😅
Keep 'em coming. This will be fun, really.
