Earlier this week, YouTube said in a statement that some people were being allowed to record short videos through a feature called multi-segment video. It is coming to some users experimentally in both iOS and Android. An announcement on YouTube has suggested that users can easily record multiple video clips using the mobile app. YouTube also says that if you want to upload a little longer video, you need to upload it directly from the phone's gallery.
However, TikTok and other modern short video recording apps use video recording as well as various editing tools, different photo effects, etc. So there is a lot more work to be done in this feature of YouTube.
