The government is banning 47 Chinese apps in India again. In late June, the government banned 59 Chinese applications "to protect national interests and security," including the hugely popular TickTock application. Some apps are working as clones of those previously banned applications, but now about 50 more applications have been banned. Although the list of specific apps banned in the new decision has not yet been announced. However, it is learned that the announcement will be made public soon. Earlier, the government banned various other applications, including Camscanner, SHAREit, and UC Browser. The ban was announced under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act.According to a tweet posted by DD News, the 48 applications banned by the government's latest decision are clones of the 59 apps banned last month. According to an official report in India Today TV, the government has also prepared a list of more than two and a half hundred apps to be examined for possible breaches of user privacy or national security.
