What is CPU? Different parts of the CPU.

Hi All...
The central part of the computer is the CPU. However, the CPU is the central part of the computer that was used the day before. Now the CPU is just a microprocessor. The central processing part is the most important part of the CPU computer. The CPU is called the brain of the computer. In many cases it is simply called a processor. It is the job of the CPU to interpret the instructions of a program and process the data.CPUs are made up of many integrated circuits. Central processing units (CPUs) have been used to process data in second-generation and third-generation mainframes, miniframes and supercomputers with a combination of multiple chips and multiple cards. After the invention of the single chip microprocessor in 1960, microprocessors replaced other CPUs. The computer's input, output, memory and other circuits are controlled by the CPU.

Microprocessor
The central processing unit or CPU of a microcomputer is called a microprocessor. The microprocessor is embedded inside the microcomputer in the form of a single chip or IC. Processors are made with a number of integrated (IC) circuits. ICs are made with transistors. The greater the number of transistors in a processor, the higher the speed of the processor. Processor speed is usually measured in units of Hz. Currently Intel Core i7 and i5 are widely used in the processor world. These are high speed GHz (GHz) unit processors. The number of transistors in the first processor Intel-4004 was only 2300 while the number of transistors in the Core i7 processor was 22800000000. The current conventional microprocessors can generally be divided into the following three parts-

  1. CISC Processor
  2. RISC Processor
  3. Special Purpose PrOCessor

CISC Processor
CISC = Complex Instruction Set Computing.
Relatively complex instructions are used.
More useful for programming in assembly language.

Examples: Intel - Pentium, Motorola - 6800, AMD (Advanced Micro Device) - K6, AMD - Athlon, Cyrix - 486DLC, IBM-Blue Lighting, TI (Texas Instrument) - 486SLC / E etc.

RISC Processor
RISC = Reduced Instruction Set Computing.
Simple and short maid instructions are used.
More useful for programming in higher languages.

Examples: Intel - Pentium, Motorola - 6800, AMD (Advanced Micro Device) - K6, AMD - Athlon, Cyrix - 486DLC, IBM-Blue Lighting, TI (Texas Instrument) - 486SLC / E etc.

RISC Processor
RISC = Reduced Instruction Set Computing.
Simple and short maid instructions are used.
More useful for programming in higher languages.

Examples: Motorola Power PC - 601, DEC Alpha - 21064, MIPs - R10000, SPARC - TMS390S10 etc.

Special Purpose Processor
Processors that are used for a specific purpose or to increase the performance of the main processor are called special use processors. An example of a specially used processor in a coprocessor.
