Huawei has not been able to use Google's ecosystem GSM (Google Mobile Service) on its smartphones since last year due to a US ban. However, Huawei has not stopped, the company has always been emphasizing on innovation. Huawei has been working on building its own operating system since before it was banned in the United States. This year, the company has also announced 'Harmony OS' as an alternative to 'GMS'. It is known that Huawei will unveil its own operating system on December 16, and they have plans to release the full version of 'Harmony OS' in April 2021.
Huawei's 'Harmony OS' will basically require a cross-platform where a user can control everything from smartphones to smart TVs and smart watches and even common devices, including cars, under one operating system without any hassle. According to a report by Huawei Central, in the future, 90 percent of Huawei smartphones will be covered under this new operating system, but only certain phones will get the 'Harmony OS' update for the time being.
