Ergonomics is the study of human-Machine interfacing. It is one of the most important aspects in design of a race car. Generally this concept applies to all the machines when human interaction and control is involved.
The picture that you see above is from our cockpit design session. Control, handling and drivability is equally important as designing a race car. Best car with features itself does not wins the race. Cockpit design will be done in such a way that driver will have relaxed position during endurance and best field of view both laterally and longitudinally. Also it ensures easy handling of all the vehicle controls. Other important aspects of ergonomic design is to ensure low center of gravity so that vehcile will have low tendency to Yaw (Rotation about vertical axis) and Roll.
