If I ignore price and the proprietary operating system and lack of choice, then this is the laptop that I would buy. It costs more than my last car purchase. The last car I bought, cost $700 less than this laptop but other than getting me to work, my laptop is more important in the money making process which sustains my family.
I am painfully aware that the laptop depicted above is more machine than I need. However, Apple computers are a joy to work on. That said, I bet that I could buy three or more very high quality "regular" laptops and run Arch linux on them very happily.
I spend a lot of time at my computer, and I think that I am growing increasingly effective using it to benefit myself and others.
I don't mind spending a ton of money on a computer but I do really like saving money for my family's future because having healthy savings gives us options. Certainly it would be preferable to find a less expensive computer that is still a joy to work on and show my wonderful birth community, I challenge you to a bounty quest: if I end up buying the computer that you recommend or you end up giving it to police that leads me to a computer is less expensive and proprietary than a MacBook, I'll send over $50 worth of blurtyblurt.
Yes, this is absolutely an attempt to crowd source intelligence.
Thank you.
Top of the head. Go with your instinct and buy the iMac. :D
It would be an excellent purchase, it is also true what you say is used to work and make money, now in modernity with the digital age it is very important to have electronic devices like these. I have a Huawei d13 2020 amd ryzen 5 laptop and it works wonders for my daily tasks and activities. Whatever your decision, it will be an excellent purchase. Hug. :)
I'm going to check how much one of these costs here in my city because one technique I'm thinking about is just picking up a cheap machine and seeing how it feels
I love all my Apple stuff.... especially my iPad Pro.... so easy to make movies with iMovie and Timelapse drawings with the Free Autodesk Sketchbook app.
I recommend that you buy the ones you want because apart from being a good investment, it can improve your comfort in the way of generating income that can help your family.
At the moment I'm getting together to buy a laptop since I'm new to Blurt and I'd like to undertake it strongly. I am also Venezuelan and the economic situation is strong. For that reason a good investment would also be reliable. I believe in the potential of Blurt.
Probably, if you'd like to know the conclusion of the laptop situation, the conclusion is that I was unable to get a 2020 MacBook pro here in Hanoi and that my pine book pro did not pass customs clearance so I am still using my phone and my old laptop.
I really can't recommend but Lenovo's are a tank of a laptop because of their durability and performance @jacobgadikian and astronauts use it in space :D
would buy a regular laptop and invest the $2.5K split 50/50 into medium and high risk. look what u can get with that investment 2 years later!
You might be stunned what a productive 8-hour code session ends up being worth
Hi @jacobgadikian
WOw. I think it's a great computer, some time ago our friend @ trev03 got an anniversary gift, a Microsoft Surface Pro 7 i7. I saw the characteristics of that team and they seem perfect to me.
However I will be very honest with you I particularly like Linux a lot.
However, I also think that you deserve a good team to work with, it is true that it is good to save but it is also true that you must have a good team that helps you save for the work you do.
laptop choice doesn't really have any bearing on team :).
Proobably I could ask the "bursar" @megadrive and he would make funding for the machine above happen inn seconds, he is a magical man.
But maybe it iis better for all if I giive soomething new a try.
PS: this is how bad my keyboard is if I do not corrrect all of its ddublings andd trriiplings of letterrs.
Yes the Bursar can make magical things happen :) have a chat to him in Discord DM and we can see what can be done. Apple Mac, really? Ugh, I like normal laptops that I can easily fix myself, Dell has always been reliable for me.
Dells are reliable but do not come with world class software designed with care.
Only MacOS and Linux fit in that category for mainstream desktop OS's
Hi, I am a developer which develops a mobile app for steemit, blurt.
You can see some progress here:
https://blurt.world/blurt/@etainclub/mobile-app-development-posting-preview
I don't know much about laptops, but for the app development, I use Ubuntu and Mac. And I need Windows too to do some banking affairs.
So my decision is using a PC where I installed Windows 10, Ubuntu 18.04, and Mac Mojave (which is not an official one).
I am using Samsung Always 9 series, but some functions are not working correctly on Mac OS. But no problem to develop apps using xcode on that.
folks on this field said the Dell XPS 15 is the best to use Mac on PC. I recommend you consider this.
Dell XPS 15 9500

Before I started to Use Apple laptops, they built my own micro ATX computers, I would always use an Intel I five CPU in a really good GPU it as much ram as I could cram into the thing. They were very nice, and linux ran well.
Are used to take that thing with me from country to country.
Why not the new iPad Pro with Smart Keyboard.
I couldn't code on it and you don't get access to Unix on the iPad pro I think
MacBooks are so damn overrated. Just buy a cheap gaming laptop for reliability and use it for work.
Have you owned a recent MacBook pro and used it to build product before?
if not then I suspect you are speaking without actual knowledge on the topic.
MacBook pro's are very good computers
And cheap gaming laptops are exactly as you describe them, cheap gaming laptops.
I thought you might wanna use it to chat and mine Blurt or some other alt coin on the side. ;D
ہمیں معلوم نہیں کی کونسی چیز بہتر ہے ، لیکن میں دعا کرونگی کی اللہ آپکو کامیاب کرے۔
آمین😊۔
Really good laptop, I would suggest look into MS laptop. Also, why not a desktop and a surface pro.
Why not a desktop:
I used to use desktop computers and carry them from place to place. Basic reason why not is that they are heavy.
My brother works as a developer and he´s always been into computers.
Ever since we were kids he had this huge fascination for computers and everything around them.
I saw him turn into an Apple fan in a heartbeat. And I thought "meh" just overpriced good looking computers with good marketing. I used to own a Toshiba, and once it died (yeah unlike Macs most computers have a rather shorter life imho) I was given my moms old Mac, a pretty oldschool one (the white ones). I fell in love with it instantly, and never looked back.
I own a Macbook pro that I bought a couple of years ago and it has not given me the slightest trouble.
Just my personal experience, Mac WILL NOT disappoint!
