Many agree that as a result of the health crisis, technology took giant steps, and the use of it has become increasingly essential for everyone on the planet. The increase in telework, virtual classes, Internet shopping among others, make us increasingly dependent on an Internet connection.

Some important information

"In a report from Digital 2021, from the Hootsuite company, they point out that for the third quarter of last year, 52.8% of the time that users spend connected they do so through their Mobile devices."

This same report reveals that Venezuela is occupying the second place in the world with the slowest mobile Internet connection in the world, (7.48 megabytes per second Mbps), a very worrying figure due to the need imposed by the changes in today's society; This undoubtedly leaves us at a great disadvantage before any nation in the world in areas such as telecommuting, distance education and business through the Internet.

According to the report, Venezuela is only surpassed by Afghanistan where the speed is 6.62 Mbps. The country that occupies the first place with the fastest mobile connection is Qatar with a speed of 178.01 Mbps. In Latin America the country with the best Mobile Internet connection is Mexico with 32.03 Mbps.

Another important piece of information is the news of the opening of Brazil to 5G networks. According to some reports at this time, the Brazilian minister undertook a tour to verify the operation of 5G networks and the security risk that exists of data leakage once it becomes operational in the South American giant.

While Brazil is committed to 5G networks in search of improving connections throughout its territory, the Digital 2021 report from the Hootsuite company assures that Venezuela fell back and went from being in 4th place to occupying the second of this unfortunate ranking. In one year in Venezuela, the connection speed decreased 10.4%.

Conclusions

The world is full of inequalities, the following years we will experience an exponential increase in the need and dependence on the Internet, today any business, paperwork, training or job, however simple it may be, mostly requires an Internet connection.

Smartphones are becoming more and more necessary to operate at any level of the economy, although this is an undeniable reality, it must be recognized that there is an abysmal gap that continues to grow between people in poor countries and access to technology This is more noticeable in countries like Venezuela where there is a severe crisis and a huge lack of investment in technology.
