a blurt front-end very much twitter-like

Twitter look and feel is abosolutely beautiful and this point on blurt it may be an 80% good idea and also a 20% bad idea. I will gladly state reasons why I think so below

WHY THIS MAY BE AN 80% GOOD IDEA

Firstly, twitter is simple, slick and not complicated to use by most people to use, so blurt having a twitter look and feel would bring ease of use to the users

Hundreds Millions of people who uses twitter daily would find it very easy to use blurt too, especialy people from #cryptotwitter community, so onboarding would be made easy.

It could attract twitter investors to blurt too if we do a very high degree of marketing for blurt.

It could put blurt as a twitter competitor which is actually very good for the economic growth of blurt, helping blurt to stand out as the best among many.

WHY THIS MAY ALSO BE A 20% BAD IDEA

It may be a bad idea to copy the looks of twitter because it is not creative to copy.
If we wanna copy we have to copy, modify, change, disrupt, add value to what blurt twitter look and feel has to be.

Secondly blurt and twitter does not really have the same technicalities, you can upload videos on blurt, but you cannot do that yet on blurt. You can post a thread on twitter but you cannot do that yet on blurt..you can retweet and comment on twitter but you cannot do that yet on blurt. You can change your username on twitter as long as it is not yet chosen by another person but you cannot do that yet on blurt. In general, blurt has to do a lot of technical adjustments to be like twitter or become a possible twitter competitor.

Blurt could get in trouble for looking exactly like twitter. Twitter codes is not open source and may have copyrights against cloning.
Blurt could also get hated by twitter fans if we claim to be a twitter look and feel and we never get to satisfy the twitter fans more than what twitter does for them.

In Conlusion Blurt having a twitter look and feel is a great idea but before it really makes sense at 100% we have to find a way to solve the problems that may make it a 20% bad idea, and we also need the technical ability on blurt to build it

I guess @megadrive @jacobgadikian @ericet @yehey might also agree to these facts?

I fully agree not to copy Twitter or any other app so we don't fall foul of copyright infringements. That being said a Twitter type app is not a bad idea, sort of like a lite client, we do have retweet capability, it's called Reblurt but is broken at present and will be fixed in next HF.

dont know if there is copyright on web layouts, functionalities and styles. but a twitter-like app would be great

thanks for the analysis. want to add that such front-end would be one of many over the blockchain. already there are a few to choose from. also, to have 99% twitter-ers to unliking blurtweet while 1% (1 million) using blurtweet would be progress. oh blurtweet could be a name for this thing🤣btw, coding such afront-end could to some larger degree be mostly shuffling html divs and blocks layout around to match twitter - still waiting for a volunteer💪
