Justin Sun has announced today that he intends to purchase Dlive, and add it to BitTorrent. The resultant acquisition will be rebranded as "BitTorrentX". The acquisition of both Steemit and Dlive shows that Sun is expanding the scope of the Tron universe, and big things may be brewing for the ecosystem.
BitTorrent has been around for almost 2-decades, and the BTFS has been used by billions of people. BitTorrent is the decentralized file storage system that may have inspired the creation of Bitcoin itself. BitTorrent tokens (BTT) can currently be staked on the Dlive platform for daily rewards.
BitTorrent was acquired by Justin Sun in 2018. Dlive is a massive e-sports platform with 7-million users. It is a wise move for Justin Sun to make as Tron moves into DeFi, passive-income from liquidity provision, yield farming and now content creation and streaming. I am amazed at how much Tron has expanded. Gambling and Super Representative staking were once the main purview of the Tron ecosystem, but much more is coming to Tron.
Sun acquired Steemit recently, and with Dlive in his pocket, he has the ability to stream content on his platform efficiently and in a decentralized fashion. The Tron Foundation is growing in leaps and bounds.
