Thanks. Yeah, after making one desk together my son has decided he wants to be a Carpenter now. ... decided he doesn’t need to go to University.... wants to retire and make desks for a living.
Lol you're kidding about that right? @offgridlife
Well.... he changes his mind about what he wants to be daily. I am trying to convince him to be a Full time blogger here on Blurt. He is already a famous Youtuber
Wow... He will join the blurt community soon i'm certain. Just a matter of time
I certainly hope that he is serious because university education simply don't have much value anymore
In fact if his son were to continue to pursue carpentry in a serious and entrepreneurial fashion I believe that he could quickly make really great money that way.
Quickly, but not immediately. Every piece of entrepreneurial work and every entrepreneur goes through a very challenging time. It is the time before recognition and also the time before the entrepreneur learns how to present both himself and his work effectively to people who want it.
The sooner his son begins to drill down into these key areas, the sooner he will be through this rough patch, confident in himself, having had the realization that most outcomes are ultimately in his control, And that when his circumstances are adversely affected by things outside of his control what he can control is his reaction to those circumstances, to come up with the nearest to ideal solution.
Probably the biggest barrier to entry to entrepreneurship is in fact the law. Business licenses, taxes, And the widespread practice of regulatory capture make it difficult and expensive to get started. This can be discouraging.
As a guy who for various reasons, wasted a decent portion of his twenties, I would recommend that his son stay on the straight and narrow, avoid drugs and parties, And always consider the long-term impacts of his actions.
His son should try his very best to think about the long term.
with regard to this planned entrepreneurial activity in carpentry, I would recommend that his son attempt to monetize carpentry as quickly as possible. That is a beautiful desk. He should try to sell those desks in any way he can to see if there is a market for such desks, and what the market wants.
Let's not forget that there are people in this world who would gladly pay $10,000 for the perfect desk.
There is also a much larger market of cost constrained people, looking for mass-produced but still excellent tasks.
Well said @jacobgadikian a lot of people out there will pay more than $10,000 for the perfect desk. Skills pay the bills
Thanks @jacobgadikian I will send this comment to him... he will like it a lot.
I am hoping he will sell his wood desks, plans/ drawings here on Blurt for Blurt dollars.
