Easy DIY Upcycled Headband

in blurtdiy •  4 years ago

Hey guys, this can be my first official post aside from my Introduceyourself post and that i am doing a DIY headband out of old T shirts, a bow, and alittle strip of cloth. Before anyone makes this i need to warn them that this makes alittle headband and won't fit if you've got an outsized head.

To start with, gather the materials that you simply will need:

  • The collars cut out of three old T-shirts(I used 2 shirts and therefore the bottom hem of an old pair of jeans).

  • A bow that's roughly 4 ½ inches (11½ cm) long and three inches (7½ cm) at the widest point(I made one from the underside of an old pair of black leggings).

  • A thin ribbon or strip of fabric.

The steps:

*Now, tie a chunk of the ribbon around all 3 shirt collars.

  • Start braiding the loops together on one side of the knot.

  • Then start braiding the opposite side within the same direction because the first side.

  • When you reach the purpose where you're unable to braid to any extent further, tie another ribbon around that part in order that it stays braided.

  • Trim the ends of the ribbon right next to the knot.

  • Undo the primary knot and tighten the braid evenly so retie the knot and trim loose ends.

  • Sew the bow on top of the second knot by hand and stretch the scarf in your hands before putting it on.
