This week I'm working on the Blurt infrastructure with the goal to have everything back up before Blurt's one year aniversary.

Condenser and Image Proxy

There were some problems with the code in Condenser that was causing it to not render posts correctly when it was trying to get images through the image proxy server.

I have found the problems and have corrected them.

As a matter of fact, I'm writing this post from an instance of the Condenser frontend currently running on my computer.

I will launch it on blurt.blog in a bit, after I'm done writing this post.

Feel free to use it while it's up. It will show the posts correctly and also display profile images and profile cover images as well.

Test all the features. I know there is still a lot of things that need to be tweaked. Don't hesitate to let me know if you think I missed something.

What's next?

There is still the issue of image uploads. I will try to get that figured out.

I want to try to get @jacobgadikian's IPFS image uploader going. If not, I'll temporarily relaunch the old one until the IPFS one can be operational.

The vote value display when casting a vote is still on the old formula, I'll have to get that fixed.

I plan on adding the options for selecting between 25% liquid author rewards and 100% Powerup. Right now it says 100% powered up, but it gives 25% liquid, which is a bit confusing for those who aren't aware of that.

I also want to add a user preference where you can choose how comments are sorted. I hate the sorting by rewards. I much prefer to sort by age, so I can see the comments in the order they were made. I also know that not everyone has the same preference, which is why I want to have it as a user preference.

There are other things on my list that I'm not thinking of right now.

I'll probably make a post with a list of things that I plan to fix or update.

This will do for now as a quick update.
