Hi, folks!
This is just a quick update to let everyone know that we have found the source of the frequent broadcast errors and server disconnects.
It turns out that the software we were using as a reverse proxy (Caddy) doesn't play nice with the Blurt nodes. For those who aren't technically inclined, a reverse proxy is a piece of software that directs traffic that is coming into a server.
I had suspected for a while that Caddy was the culprit. So this morning I asked @tekraze to switch out Caddy for Nginx to see if it would fix the problem. He first tried it on his own node, and it seemed to work. Then he did the same for the node running at rpc.blurt.world
.
The broadcast errors and server disconnects are no longer happening on those two nodes (https://rpc.blurt.world, https://rpc.blurt.one). That means that Blurters will now have a much better experience on Blurt with more stable connections to the nodes.
I will be doing the same on my own node when I get around to it, and I will release instructions for any other node operator who wants to do the switch as well.
I have set @tekraze as a beneficiary for part of this post's rewards since he's the one who actually did the work after I got the idea.
That's it for this one.
Until next time, I hope you all have a great one!
Vote for my witness!
I run a witness node on the Blurt blockchain and I would really appreciate your witness vote.
You can vote for my witness by going here.
nice... kudos to the both of you!
I am getting a weird sense of confidence in the BLURT network, might have to do with personal sympathy, too... but I have also always been a fan of tx-fees to curb malicious spam and farming methods...
I am very happy to give you a witness vote
Thanks for the witness vote!
Hey @saboin this is a test text comment from bKeyServerClient
This is great to hear you narrowed down the issue. Nginx is usually the most well known one, I've heard of caddy but haven't played around with it personally. Apparently it's written in Go instead of C based on a quick search.
Thank you very much for the vote, I appreciate it :)
Have a great day.
We use Caddy for everything else except the blurt nodes. It works well for most cases and it's easy to setup, plus it automatically gets TLS certificate for https. Nginx is a bit more complicated to setup and you have to get TLS certificate manually with certbot.
Overall I prefer Caddy, but it just doesn't play nice with the Blurt nodes for some reason.
Doesn't it have security consequences? ... maybe you're looking for a different more reliable one?
Which I love the most is the effort you all put to make things better for us the users so I have to thank you again for the great job.
Hugs
The new reverse proxy (Nginx) works better for blurt nodes. We were using Caddy before for the ease of deployment and configurations. It automatically gets certificates for https connections. But it doesn't work too well with Blurt nodes, so we replaced it with one that works. It's a bit more work to set it up, but it works. All the other services on Blurt are behind Caddy reverse proxy and there are no issues. It's just the Blurt nodes that Caddy doesn't play nice with.
Glad to hear that and thanks so much for the clear explanation, it helps understand a bit more how Blurt works and it's resilience, well done!
🤗
Thanks for sharing this. Sharing the doc to move Nginx in some time
have fun with your work. thanks for taking the time to provide information.
Nice to meet you!
I know this is an old post but why do I never get any blurt booster posts when everyone else does is there a reason?
There is a minimum of 80 words of text. If you have fewer than 80 words in a post, Blurt Booster will skip that one. As long as you have 80 words or more, and you have at least one image or one video , your post will get a vote. If there are no images or videos, the minimum word count goes up to 300.
Thank you for this information, I will write to you privately to make the necessary adjustments to the latam rpc.
Well done! thanks to you @saboin and to @tekraze.

This is great! Hats off to both you!
Is there an on chain suggestion thread? If not, I think that'd be a great idea for a forum to have. No need to go elsewhere. And it could be permanently pinned so it's super easy to find later on and people can use it to make suggestions.
I think that is a good idea. I'll suggest something like that to the team and see if we can implement it.
Meanwhile you can always open issues on GitLab, use Discord, or just post to one of the team member's posts like you just did here.
I mean, I see it as being easy to do. Step one, create a post. Step two. Pin it using the current system. Done.
Yes. I understood what you meant.
Wow! Feeling we have 'Run out of gas' emotionally. Hopefully there will be more updates later very soon. Thank you very much.
nice one @tekraze
That's why, I often say we have very working hard and sharp, intelligent developers. You guys are doing really well to make Blurt ecosystem more stronger and effective. Since I have joined this amazing community, I have seen so many developments from all you three. Thanks for solving this problem and use information!
Kudos to your development efforts. Hopefully Blurt continues to thrive with a stable connection. Thanks @saboin and @tekraze.
Well done @saboin and @tekraze!
This is awesome and I look forward to a more smother and safer blurt experience. I see that truly Blurtblog has the best hands . Blurt; experience true value of decentralized social media Blockchain technology!. Information is power thank you for such a great idea and to @tekraze test running the idea.

Because @megadrive doesn't seem to see my comment I'll ask you for the last part of my comment maybe I'll have better luck 😅.
Why https://blocks.blurtwallet.com/#/richlist doesn't work? What is @initblurt account? If I decide to become a block producer, what rank must I reach in the top witness to be profitable?
Hi,
the richlist uses external api that may not be updated.
Thanks a lot for these information 👍

Sir, congratulations and welcome. Your efforts, your thoughts, your perseverance with the Blood Platform really deserve praise. Thanks to your hard work, I think the Blood platform is now in the third position. Hopefully, if you continue to work tirelessly with the Blood Platform, the Blood Platform will one day become the number one platform. People will learn from this in the hope that they will earn money and will benefit a lot. I always do and I am proud to be a small Bangladeshi user to get such a site or platform. If you recover all the flaws in the Blood for Platform, you will find it more lively and fun by working on the Blood Platform. I hope you will solve everything InshaAllah. Good luck sir, good luck.

Almost everyday improvements are made on BLURT. I see a bright future for BLURT.
I am using blurt.blog always and not using any other front end. But I know blurt.one is better than other front end

This is a interesting post .
Sorry to be using this post for my questions, but you are a developer who seems to answer questions. I'm sure you are aware of the whole thing with Hetzner not wanting crypto on their platform at all(https://cointelegraph.com/news/hetzner-anti-crypto-policies-a-wake-up-call-for-ethereum-s-future). Do you know what hosts that Blurt uses(if there's a breakdown like the graph in the article, it'd be great) and how crypto friendly they are? And is Blurt reliant on Hetzner at all?
Sir, I post regularly and vote for Annano users, but why don't I get the vote of vote @blurtbooster on my post.
It's still the same answer as last time. You need to interact with other people's posts. @blurtbooster checks to see if you comment on other people's posts. If you just post and don't comment, you will not get votes from @blurtbooster.
Sir please vote my post and support me too
