Hey,
So, like the vast majority of new enterprises, the vast majority of the projects I've launched have failed. About 90%, if we're keeping score.
But recently, this summer, I began to validate Osmosis, and well, wouldn't you know that was a winning move, and it just kept winning? Notional labs now runs 16 Cosmos Ecosystem validators, on fully open infrastructure, and is now a team of eight engineers.
There are more requrests for our work than there are brains, keyboards, and chairs for butts. And to me, this has been a totally new kind of challenge:
How do we build an organization that could work well, even in my absence, when that org depends on arcane configurations, and cryptographic private keys that are not meant to be shared?
I've got ideas, but they're cryptographically challenging.
In the meantime, we're launching a series of chains -- so far only in Cosmos -- that all give a portion of their supply to staked blurt.
We're blessed to have gotten so far. This lil thang that @thecryptodrive and I spun up around blurt, well, it now occupies a four story office building, 90 square meters per floor.
We've brought in dedicated fiber lines to replace the rickety internet connections in my "secret laboratory". We are finally shipping a single board computer-- the deposit on that was paid a week ago. Revenue is robust.
And all of that, of course is awesome.
So, what is the challenge?
If you haven't been in this place, you probably don't really know the set of challenges. Each day there's more work to do than our team can possibly complete. I've elected to continue to be a hands-on engineer, and I've made nearly 3000 git commits over the course of 2021.
Stuff I talked about -- like "baby blockchains" -- have come to fruition; including Blurt.
I had to quit discord, because it was going to consume all of the time I had for engineering.
Management and teambuilding were totally new skills for me because I'd never ever had a chance to grow the way that Notional is currently growing. Honestly, ever stat that we have as an organization is up and to the right. Our customers have dug deep with us, to the degree of helping to codesign projects, and our work got some recognition.
So now I am practicing a new set of skills, and really, really pushing myself on time management.
I wanna take a second and say that none of this would have been possible without the blurt community, and the lessons that I learned -- both engineering-wise and management-wise, by executing blurt.
On July 4, 2022, the regent account expires. Blurt will finally be freed from the lil cage that we put it in at genesis, thinking that we could keep it safe that way.
To those of you with the time and the desire, I do request that you consider contributing to Blurt, the open source project.
I will do a little code maitenance tonight, but I will try and do so with a much lighter hand than I did in the past.
I sincerely appreciate every blurt user making original content and using blurt as their "digital home". Your words and thoughts are the most powerful force known to man, and I implore you to please find your own little piece of blurt, and push it forward.
Unless my circumstances change drastically, I never intend to sell even 1 BLURT, or to leave the community. I'll try my best, as I do with every blockchain community, to make decisions that benefit the whole community and ensure that blurt remains a healthy chain and community for decades to come.
Thank you
-Jacob
Awesome. I am especially looking forward to DIG… I have lots of ideas about land projects here in Canada. Planting trees …
I should also introduce you to the regen networks team, they are focused on regenerative agriculture and environmental renewal.
That would be awesome. I have an idea for a Carbon Credit NFT. … ready to plant billions of trees here in Canada. Mostly beautiful white pine , and hemp.
hemp...
This is right up my alley for where I am at too.
My dear friend you are missed in this place, however I can not be egosite, I wish that all the projects you have undertaken continue to the infinite and beyond. Above all, thank you for being a person firm in your convictions and above all for always transmitting the best teachings and advice.

Glad to see you posting again and updating us on what you've been up to. Super excited for the new building for the project you and Ricardo put up. I'm just here willing to help on tasks within the area of my skills and time availability.
Thanks again for putting up Blurt. Very few persist the way you did to push through with the 90%. You only need that 10% that works. Again, congratulations and let's continue moving forward with God's help and guidance.
Very nice post with good intention and great thoughts. I studied your whole blog and I enjoyed it so much and I knew about your project. Its a good project and hope it will touch the grand success.
It made me very glad that you have never intendef to sell even 1 BLURT, or to leave the community. And you also determined to try your best, as you do with every blockchain community, to make decisions that benefit the whole community and ensure that blurt remains a healthy chain and community for decades to come.
Thanks a lot for sharing your project and idea!
When I researched Blurt late last year before deciding to join, this was one of several things you had discussed that drew me to you. I was cautious, as many say things that in retrospect never manifest (because they lied usually). However, I felt your sincerity.
During my time here, you've validated that my intuition regarding you were correct, always plodding forward despite many setbacks (including malicious attacks). You are manifesting as promised not just for yourself, but for the entire Blurt community.
I congratulate you and your associates (Megadrive especially) for your victories that see you forge ahead into uncharted territory. Thank you so much for bringing us with you as promised. On the other chains I felt that the community wasn't appreciated for the value they brought, made even more obvious when they forked during the hostile takeover. Instead of it bringing humility and respect for the community that made it possible, we see the same old vindictiveness and disregard that was rampant before the takeover on Steem. I'm both humbled and grateful that all of you at the foundation both see us and value us.
I'm hopeful that in the coming months (for those of us tech ignorant like myself) you could elucidate more on how a chain runs without having a dependency as Rycharde would call it on the foundation and yourself? It occurs to me that despite what I just said about Hive, there would be no Hive without the many layers of dependency that implemented and run it, the same with Blurt. I wonder how Blurt would have fared through the attacks and issues without this dependency on yourself and the foundation. My fear is we will falter without some form of stewardship by people of a benevolent respectful nature as the foundation which is a reflection of yourself and megadrive.
your Intuition is correct IMHO,

Jake you are doing great. I can understand your wanting to distance yourself because it is part of the aspect of it being non centralized. You also have done a lot of baby block chains and are a real father too. All of that must weigh on you.
I think blurt will do fine and wish I had more of the technical skills to help on that side too.
Jacob Sir,
I hope you are well. Yes sir I will protect your request inshallah. For those of you who have the time and desire, I would like to contribute to the Bluart, open source project. Your patience, hard work and tireless work day and night will not go unnoticed by the way Blood is advancing on the international blockchain platform. I like Blood very much because Blood doesn't have a download system and no one here can be hostile to anyone. Also I have just started a journey of blood so my experience is much less but I read each of your posts and try to understand. I like Blood very much from other platforms. I applaud you and many others for their tireless work and time to move Blood forward and I think in the next few days Blood will go a long way and even surpass all the blockchain platforms.
I'll do a little code maintenance tonight, but I'll try to do it with a much lighter hand than in the past.
I sincerely appreciate every Blart user creating original content and using Blart as their "digital home". Your words and thoughts are the most powerful force known to man, and I urge you to please find your own little piece and move it forward.
As you might expect, "which benefits the whole community and ensures that Blurt remains a healthy chain and community for decades to come."
Thanks
Md. Abdul Alim.
Dedication, commitment and perseverance will surely be crown when the time is right, you just have to stay strong and optimistic to be able to scale through, More grease to your elbows.
Hello dear,
@jacobgadikian your thinking is absolutely right. Though I am a new user, but I try to make content by myself. And I think I am acheived may other things. On the other hand when a per use his or her creative talent on his/her content, it will be more knowledgeable and new knowledge.
Thanks dear @jacobgadikian for your attention about this.
Specially I like and love new and creative content to gather my knowledge more powerful.

I can only thank you for creating Blurt and for defending it to the hilt. I congratulate you for all your projects and achievements. I am part of the Dig validators and I am excited for all the new things to come. I am very happy that you have managed to set up a whole infrastructure to complete the running of the projects. Even when you are very busy you are always on the lookout for Blurt, creating, contributing and helping others. Again congratulations, thanks to you and megadrive for creating all this and allowing us to be part of this project.
