Blurt Curation - Open-Source Curation Game - 9 Apr 2021

in blurtcuration •  4 years ago  (edited)

Well, that didn't last long! There I was, restarting my curation project and barely a week later - boom! All gone.

But, don't worry, there was always a plan B. I mean, just listing curation accounts was never, on it's own, going to sustain daily posts. So, let's fast-forward to plan B.

Open-Source Curation Game

So you wanna be a curator and earn some money? OK, here is how this works.

If you find a good post that you think deserves a vote, leave a comment with a link and just one sentence explaining why.

If the post is voted upon, then the "curator", that's you, will also get a vote at half the weight.

So, if I vote a post 50% then the curator who left the comment will get 25%.

That's it!

Some Complications

There are always complications, so let me go through them before I see the same questions every day.

Is a vote guaranteed? No.

Who makes the final judgment? I do.

Can I curate my own posts? No.

What if the same post is listed multiple times? I shall take the first comment made.

What if I forget to add a short explanation? Edit your comment.

What if I forget the post link? Then you have a far more serious problem.

Will the vote be larger than my commenting fee? Yes, of course.

In what language can the posts be written? Any existing language is fine.

Can others vote on my comment? Sure, that's part of the fun, if this becomes popular you may gain some visibility, but I will still look at the chronological order.

What if you've already voted on a post? Find another one.

What if I see a post voted upon but I don't get the curator's vote? Read the comment I leave on the post and you will see who the curator is.

Can I complain? You can try, although probably wiser to move on.

I expect some level of chaos, but do try and chill out, it just isn't worth the mental anguish.

The aim of BlurtCuration is to support individual curators who improve the quality of posts on Blurt.
@BlurtCuration is managed by @rycharde with the support and delegation from my @busbecq witness.

A post that I recommend reading, especially for its analysis focused on restructuring the social foundations of blurt.

Voted, thanks!
I commented too, in "my master's voice" ;-)

A new project for contemporary adults or people over 35, created to bring together topics of common interest. 40 is the new 30

Voted! many thanks - great to see new initiatives spring up.

@tomoyan took a step forward and decided to create his own healing project.

Pay-per-vote and delegation reward schemes are NOT quality curation projects.
However, I'll accept this as an info post :-)
Thanks!

You are right, it is always better the manual curation process. I will keep this in mind from now on. Thank you!

Actually, I had already voted on it! lol. Noticed too late.
The glitch is in your favour this time :-)

Oh, what a great way to turn what's going on around. It serves to promote other people's issues, generates comments and everyone wins. It's a great idea.

Thank you - you get a discretionary non-curatorial vote ;-)
And if I miss a day, that's fine, it's just starting, may take a while for people to know it's here.

Congratulations, your post has been curated by @r2cornell-curate. Also, find us on Discord

A short story of terror and suspense, the author presents an art that does not go unnoticed is not a comic but gives the story personality. Above all it is an original content for the #abrilcontest contest of blurtlatam and the blurt platform.
