POEM PEACE AT LAST
The world was at its darkest
My mind was wandering and I was worried
There was no way out
I decided to meditate at the house
No relief
Then I went to a serene village
The people were simple
Rice threshing was going on in the fields.
Sugarcane and pulses were growing close by.
The Handpump was gushing gallons of water
Trees all around appeared like a blessing from God
The birds were chirping and singing a melancholic song
The sunset appeared as a painting of God
The temple bells were ringing
Also heard the Azaan
Everywhere the kids were playing, running, and laughing,
Peace came to me and it was a great feeling
Peace at last full of grace, and freedom from disturbance
I felt blessed and worthy to be in a village
