Hello everyone, I hope this post meets you well.
Well, cooking is one of my hobbies and today, I am going to share with you details about my favourite food which happens to also be my husband's favourite food 😍. My favourite food is no other than Egg sauce and boiled yam!!! Yeah! You read right 😃.
REASONS I LOVE THIS MEAL.
- It is low budget meal and I harvested some of the ingredients I used in cooking from my garden
- It is simple/easy to make
- It does not take a whole lot of time to prepare
- Protein, carbohydrates and vitamins are all in right amounts in the food
- It tastes great!!!
INGREDIENTS FOR MAKING THIS MEAL - 3 Eggs
- Fresh tomatoes
- Fresh red ball pepper
- Tumeric form my garden ( I love to add natural spices to my meals because its health)
- Fresh ginger from my garden
- Fresh curry leaves from my garden
- Seasoning cubes
- Salt
- Soya oil
- 2 balls of onions
- 1 tuber of yam

THINGS I NEEDED TO COOK WITH
- 2 pots for boiling the yam and frying the egg sauce
- Gas cooker
- Water
- Stirring spoon
STEPS IN COOKING THE MEAL
I Started with the yam.
- I cut them in my desired round shapes and pealed them
- I washed them, put them in the pot, added water and lit the gas and began boiling them .
- After 3 minutes of boiling I added my desired quantity of salt and covered it for about 7 -10 minutes to soften the yam, then i sieved the water and set the yam aside in a plate.

EGG SAUCE PREPARATION - I chopped the fresh tomatoes and onions
- I roughly blended the red bell pepper, tumeric and ginger together
- I broke the eggs and poured into a plate, added a pinch of salt, then I began to whisk the eggs to my desired texture.
- I washed the curry leaves
The ingredients are all set for cooking now!!
THE COOKING
I placed a clean pot on the gas cooker and allowed the water to dry off the pot.
I added soya oil and allowed it to get hot
I added the chopped onions and stirred a bit, i allowed the onion to release its juice into the oil for about 2 minutes until it turned pale.
I added the roughly blended pepper, ginger and tumeric to release their flavour into the food at this point and continued frying for 1 minute
I added the chopped fresh tomatoes and fried a bit longer till the juice dried up a bit.
At this point, I seasoned the sauce with 3 seasoning cubes and a pinch of salt to taste.
I then poured the whisked eggs into the pot but did not stir at this point, this is to help the egg to coagulate (solidify) then i stirred after achieving my result.
At this point, I added the the curry leaves and the aroma in my kitchen was " Nose blinding"
