Assalamu Alaikum ALL.

Hello friends how are you all.
Hope you are all well. I'm fine too.

Dhundal Cultivation Method and Breed Introduction In Bangladesh, Dhundal (Sponse gourd) is cultivated generally for consumption as a vegetable. Its scientific name is Luffa cylindrica. Two types of dhundal are available in our country. One is usually what we eat. Its shell is not bitter, tasty and soft. The other is the wild dhundal, called titpalla. Its ripe fruit is dried and made into sponge-like soap paste.

The first condition of land in dhundal cultivation is to select a land that is high, does not accumulate water, and does not have any shade of trees. Loam and sandy loam are good for Dhundul cultivation. The soil should be fertile and have good irrigation and drainage. //

We know how to prepare land for dhundal cultivation: The land should be well plowed 3-4 times and prepared for dhundul cultivation with a ladder. The soil of the land should be freed from weeds and cleaned well. After that, make a mada 1 feet deep, 2.5 feet long and 2.0 feet wide. The distance from one female to another will be 8-10 feet. Mada should be made at least 5-6 inches higher than the ground.Method of Fertilizer Application for Dhundal Cultivation: Whole cow dung, half TSP and potash during last tillage. The remaining TSP, potash, complete gypsum and half urea should be mixed with the soil of the mother pit. The remaining half of urea should be applied when the seedling is 40-45 days old.

Leave 3-4 healthy plants in each plot and remove the rest. As the tree grows, bamboo shoots or cuttings should be planted in the ground near the base of the tree. So that it can be easily climbed in the loft or jungle. It is better to raise the loft 3-4 feet above the ground. If weeds grow on the land, they should be cleaned. After 15-20 days, urea fertilizer should be applied at the rate of 50 grams per head.

There are many types of diseases in Dhundal trees. Diseased and dead leaves should be collected and buried. Fruit borers cause serious damage to crops. Action should be taken quickly for this insect. They damage by eating young leaves and heads of plants. The attack of this insect can be prevented by covering the seedling with ash or mosquito net. Apart from this, thorn insects also attack the tree.
