Haleem and Jilapi are essential ingredients for Iftar in Ramadan. Starting from the star hotels, even the neighborhood hotels are selling delicious halim and jilapi. However, Halim is also made at home now.

There are several types of haleem available in Dhaka. Among them, beef haleem is more popular due to price and choice. Apart from this, there are mutton or khasir haleem, chicken or chicken haleem. Other than the difference in the meat, the other ingredients and cooking methods of Halim are almost the same.

Jilapi has a special demand in Iftari menu for everyone, young and old. And to meet this demand, from the footpath to the five-star hotels of the country, all kinds of Jilapi are being prepared everywhere. Bahari Jilapi which can be found by visiting various iftar markets of the capital. Handi Indian Bistro restaurant in the city offers 'Saffron Jilapi', which is priced at Tk 400 per kg. Traditional 'Chikon Jilapi' is available at Royal Bangla Sweets, Tk 200 per kg. 'Saffron Milk Jillapi' is being sold at Tk 500 per kg on sunny afternoons. Jilapi is available at Tk 320 per kg at Hotel Peninsula. 'Kashmiri Jilapi' is being sold at Sabuj Hotel at Tk 250 per kg. In Afghan restaurants, 'Reshmi Jilapi' is being sold at Tk 350 per kg and 'Black Jira Jilapi' is being sold at Tk 370. Apart from this, delicious Jilapi of different sizes are available in the city's highways, sizzle, forest and other sweet places.
