Hello all food enthusiasts! Today, I'm excited to share with you a traditional French recipe that's perfect for chilly winter days: lentils with sausages. This recipe is simple, quick, and delicious, with a combination of tender lentils and smoked sausages that will satisfy your taste buds. As I was not satisfied with the quality of the previous photos of the dishes and their preparation due to the lighting in my kitchen, I invested in a more professional lamp to improve the quality. I hope you will be satisfied with the result.😁


Ingredients for 1 serving:

  • Lentils (uncooked): 70 g
  • Smoked sausage: 1
  • Yellow onion: 1/4
  • Fresh carrot: 1/2

Here are the steps to prepare this delicious dish:

Step 1:

Peel and slice the onion.

Step 2:

Peel the carrot and cut it into rounds.

Step 3:

In a pot, add a drizzle of olive oil, then the onion and carrot. Cook for 3 minutes on medium heat.

Step 4:

Add the lentils and cook for another 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Add pepper (optional: you can also add a bay leaf).

Step 5:

Add 20 cl of water per person. Let it cook for 15 minutes on medium heat.

Step 6:

After 15 minutes, add the sausages (you can cut them in half) and cook for another 15 minutes covered. Add salt and pepper to taste. Your dish is ready!
